Irene Kane

Irene Kane aka Nini was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She participates in Litquake classes, authoring life stories from childhood through current life, including some about the lively children she co-grandparents. She's the owner of Ceremonies and Celebrations, writing and performing ceremonies for weddings and end-of-life memorials and celebrations throughout the Bay Area. Irene lived in Noe Valley from 1971 to 2004, knew Ruth Asawa, and appreciated the support and encouragement Ruth gave her as a photographer. It feels really special to be here after all these years, using a different art form, and knowing Ruth’s life, art, and art education evolved into Ruth’s Table.
