Macy Hembd

Macy Hambd is a 29-year-old multidisciplinary artist, organizer, and activist based in San Francisco, where she’s been rooted for nearly three years. Originally from the Midwest, Macy has lived across the U.S.—from Wisconsin and Minnesota to Montana, Wyoming, Florida, and now California—bringing a wide-ranging perspective to her creative and community work.

Her practice spans painting, collage, photography, printmaking, prose, and modeling. Macy’s work often weaves together art and activism, as seen in projects like Food for Thought, a combined art show and food drive presented at Uzay Gallery. She’s also an art battle veteran and will be returning to the competitive stage this May.

Macy holds a BA in Psychology and Art Therapy and an MA in Social Justice and Human Rights, grounding her art in deep care for people and structural change.
