Sarai Schwartz
Sarai Schwartz (they/she/he) is a Korean- Jewish genderqueer poet and musician born in a small town, Irvington, NY. They moved across the country to Oakland at the age of 12 with family and've become an East-Bay-based artist since. They perform with a band called Sarai Schwartz and the Sigmas and make music that has been described as Indie Soul. They grew up and out of the religious cult called the Unification Church i.e. the Moonies, and thus their art focuses on themes of finding freedom, healing from religious trauma, and grounding in nature.
