Sheila Koren
Ever since her childhood diaries, which locked with a key, Sheila has been keeping journals recording her life experiences and observations. She loves reading other people’s memoirs and, in her own, tries to make big points with small examples.
Sheila's love of helping to craft life stories also manifests in her work as a psychotherapist and activist for social justice, and in her life as a partner, parent, and friend. She has published book reviews, essays, and nonfiction articles. Sheila was a copywriter for St. Martin’s Press, and editor and writer at a radical psychology journal called State and Mind. Most recently, she contributed to the Encyclopedia of Radical Healing.
In January, Sheila helped write the lower part of a B with her body, in S.F.’s human banner on the beach that spelled Abolish ICE.
