Stacy G

Stacy G is an Asian American poetess. Born in San Francisco, raised in Davis, educated in Chico, she recently boomeranged backed to San Francisco and is finding her feet and voice in the city's art arena. She has performed at Women of Color March, Sacramento Poetry Center. Her poetry has taken her to Oakland and Stockton and Dallas, Texas to compete at the Womxn of the World Poetry Slam 2020. Her writings and poems disrupt the model minority stereotypes by giving voice to her experiences as a child of Burmese immigrant parents, navigating U.S. culture, and owning her identity through it all. She writes in order to own her own experiences, not just as an Asian American, but also as a strong woman with fire in her voice and hopes it ignites the passion in others to do the same.
