Hand Jobs - Megan Mackey

Description

"Hand Jobs" – Megan Mackey Art Exhibition

On May 9th, 2025, artist Megan Mackey hosted Hand Jobs, an anti-pretentious art exhibition dedicated entirely to the body part we see the most: hands.

Held in celebration of Mackey’s birthday, the evening invited guests to revel in playful surrealism, cheeky wordplay, and perhaps a bit of subLIMBinal messaging. True to her Dadaist ethos, Mackey refused to explain her pieces, urging viewers to finger it out for themselves.

The exhibition featured works that danced between the absurd and the sensual—some NSFW—making it a night for adult eyes only. Attendees mingled over drinks and food, their presence and donations fueling the night’s festivities.

This celebration of surreal, self-aware art was made possible with support from Decentered Arts, building community through art in all forms.
