"If I Grow Up", a fashion show by ÉCLAIRÉS

On the evening of April 11, 2026, the halls of the African American Art & Culture Complex transformed into a vibrant gathering of fashion, culture, and community for If I Grow Up, a fashion show presented by ÉCLAIRÉS.

Guests arrived to an immersive West African-inspired market experience where conversation, craft, and rhythm filled the space. A legendary oil painter shared their work, a local sculptor and upcycle artist displayed transformed materials, and the aroma of halal Caribbean fusion food moved through the room. Nearby, a live drum circle pulsed through the venue, setting the tempo for the night and welcoming everyone into the experience.

Before the runway began, visitors wandered through the marketplace of makers - connecting with artists, exploring handmade pieces, and catching early glimpses of the newest ÉCLAIRÉS collection.

Then, at 7:30 PM, the show began.

If I Grow Up unfolded as a visual journey through consciousness, exploring the tension between individuality and the identities society places upon us. Each look on the runway carried part of that story, blending Afro-toned palettes and design language with echoes of both vintage and contemporary streetwear. The garments moved between past and future, heritage and reinvention.

At its core, the evening reflected the philosophy behind ÉCLAIRÉS - “the Enlightened Ones.” Through clothing, connection, and shared cultural space, the brand invited its community to reflect on who we are, who we become, and how creativity can illuminate the path between the two.

For one evening inside the African American Art & Culture Complex, fashion became more than style - it became story, memory, and possibility.
