Clothing Swap at Decentered for SOMA Nights

On a lively SOMA Nights evening, Decentered Studio transformed into a welcoming space for community exchange as Decentered Arts hosted a clothing swap in partnership with Roboro and the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop.

The studio quickly filled with racks of clothing, accessories, and thoughtfully shared treasures. Some guests arrived with garments to pass along, while others simply came to browse, discovering new favorites regardless of whether they had brought anything themselves. The spirit of the evening was simple: take what you need, give what you can.

Beyond the swap, the gathering celebrated sustainability, generosity, and community care. By keeping clothing in circulation, participants gave pre-loved items a second life while reducing textile waste and supporting a more circular approach to fashion.

As the evening came to a close, any unclaimed clothing found a new purpose through donation to Youth With A Mission (YWAM), extending the event’s impact beyond the studio. Together, the clothing swap became more than an exchange of garments—it became a celebration of sharing, connection, and the belief that small acts of generosity can strengthen a creative community.
