Lucy Hilmer

Lucy Hilmer is a San Francisco poet & fine art photographer best known for her photographic series-in-time, Birthday Suits, 50 years of black-and-white self-portraits made every year on her birthday since 1974. Hilmer’s poetry was selected for Poets 11 in 2016, and by Quiet Lightning for sPARKLE & bLINK in 2018. She is currently working on a memoir in poetry, entitled Snapshots of My Former Selves, 1965-2025, a companion piece to her soon-to-be-published photo book, Birthday Suits, A Woman, Her Camera & Time.
