Gen Blend: A Monthly Intergenerational Writers Potluck and Open Mic

Every First Thursday | 5:30 – 7:30 PM

Ruth's Table, 3160 21st St, San Francisco, CA 94110 | Free

Decentered Arts, together with Ruth's Table, Community Living Campaign, Adobe Books, and Litquake's Elder Project, hosted this inspirational gathering. It featured writers from the Community Living Campaign Writing Program, the Elder Project workshops, local writers across a wide age range, and community members who stepped up to share at the open mic. Limited time was available for pieces under three minutes.

The evening was free and potluck-style. Participants brought food to share, and beverages were available. Each month, a delectable culinary creation by Amirali Mir was offered as a generous contribution to the community table.

Visitor guidelines noted that face masks were optional.

Ruth’s Table gallery and the adjacent green space were wheelchair accessible.

ASL interpretation was available with 72-hour notice.

The program was free and open to all, with RSVPs encouraged. Donations were welcomed to support Decentered Arts’ mission.

At Decentered Arts, we believed in building resilient community through art of all mediums. To carry this vision forward, we produced Decentered Open Mic, Eventracker, Writers Group, Poolside Poets, curated events, and more. Community support helped us sustain these programs and dream even bigger.
